Born on October 18, 1928, in Monroe, Louisiana. He passed away February 21, 2018. Roy wrote for the Frederick News post for 20 years. After retiring he became a writer for The Tentacle. Roy was a speech writer to Lady Bird Johnson, wife of Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the United States. As ornery as he could be, he was loved by both major political parties in Frederick County. His memory lives on through his writing.
