As protests sparked by George Floyd’s death continue in major cities around the nation with people wanting to express their stance against police brutality, we pray that here in Frederick County Maryland the citizens stay SAFE & stay SANE.
Social media has filled up with images and videos of rioters and looters destroying the very neighborhoods they live in and lives being needlessly lost as a result. NOBODY thinks that what happened to George Floyd was right or justified – you will be hard pressed to find anybody that agrees it was ok, yet even with the support of all the people and the government, there are riots brewing all over the place. When is this going to end?!?! This is NOT okay! If you feel the need to protest, and we understand if you do, PLEASE protest peacefully, that is the best way to show solidarity with the anti-racism movement.
