   John W. Ashbury

John W. Ashbury, editor, publisher and owner of The Tentacle, has more than 50 years experience as a journalist. He worked for such newspapers as The Sun and The Evening Sun of Baltimore, after beginning his career at The Frederick News-Post. He also worked for The Roanoke World-News and The Raleigh News & Observer. He is a former columnist for both The Glade Times & Mountain Mirror, of Walkersville, and the Frederick Gazette Newspapers. His interest in local government is well known. He is the author of ''...and all our yesterdays: A Chronicle of Frederick County Maryland,'' which was published in 1997. He is also the author of "Frederick County Characters: Innovators, Pioneers and Patriots of Western Maryland," published in October 2013. He is married, has three children and six grandchildren. He lived in Walkersville for 25 years before moving to Thurmont in 2004.
