Just my thoughts as the summer ends

With the last official weekend of summer over, here are some of my thoughts on the year so far
- Is it just me
or have Gov. Robert Ehrlich and Lt. Gov. Michael Steele been to Frederick County for more events so far this year then Parris Spendending and Kathleen did in their entire eight years?
- Is it just me
or why do Democrats always say that we need to make the hard decision to raise taxes, but they never want to make the hard decision to cut spending?
- Is it just me
or why is the politically correct crowd always asking me to be tolerant of their "quote" lifestyle and actions, but are very intolerant of mine.
- Is it just me
but why do we only see our U.S. Senators in Western Maryland when they are running for re-election.
- Is it just me
but why do all the majors issues in the city of Frederick always come down to the boys against the girls.
- Is it just me
but why do Democrats always say we need to create more jobs then turn around and want to add more rules and taxes that seem to drive businesses out of business.
- Is it just me
but isn't it amazing what can happen along "The Golden Mile" when you offer business tax credits to move into empty buildings.
- Is it just me
but why is it that every time a major issue comes before the Mayor and Board of Alderman of Frederick that the Mayor always seems to end up pouring gas on the fire.
- Is it just me
but why is the Mayor charging fees to event organizers of events that bring dollars to city, and then can't seem to understand why they leave for other cities?
- Is it just me
or why is it that, when someone starts a non-profit, the first place they look for funding is to government.
- Is it just me
or don't baseball and football games always look better on real grass.
- Is it just me
or, until the Historic District Commission gets out of the way, the Carroll Creek project will never go anywhere.
- Is it just me
or weren't email and voice mail supposed to reduce the amount of paper in the work place.
- Is it just me
or are you spending the majority of your time at your computer waiting on "stuff" to print.
- Is it just me
but why do Democrats demand that we spend money like it is water on public education, but they send their kids to private school.
- Is it just me
or is the only (real) reason for a hotel/motel tax is that everybody else is doing it?
- Is it just me
or if the BOE thought it could, the BOE would drain the county of all its money and still say they need more!
- Is it just me
or why is it okay for Democrats to go to local churches and take up collections for their candidates and make political speeches, but when Republicans attempt to do the same thing the ACLU is in court crying separation of church and state!
Just my thoughts as the summer ends. Enjoy the fall.
